Walls for the wind
And a roof for the rain,
And drinks bedside the fire
Laughter to cheer you
And those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire.
There's a lot of talk going on in the United States about repealing the Affordable Care Act. But discussion points and political efforts aside, those of us who live in the U.S. already know why we can't afford repeal. The Affordable Care Act is helping millions of people around the country -- and these are friends and neighbors of many of us. There are very few people in the United States who can honestly say they don't know someone who used to worry about losing coverage when someone on their plan got sick. Most of U.S. residents know some young adults who can now stay on their parents' health plan until the age of 26. And how many U.S. residents can say that that they don't know of seniors who used to pay thousands out of pocket because they fell in prescription drug coverage's "donut hole"? Also, don't forget that many of us who live in the States probably know of people , like children, who have a preexisting condition and have been discriminated against by the insurance companies. It strikes me that people of the United States can neither financially nor morally afford the cost of repeal.
